If your travel is disrupted by a last-minute Host cancellation or a home access issue, our Trip Protection Policy offers you the coverage you need to find a suitable alternative and minimize disruptions to your stay.
Overview
- In the event that a Host cancels a confirmed booking within 30 days of the arrival date, or the Guest is reasonably prevented from accessing or entering the home, Kindred will attempt to secure an alternate Kindred home (“Suitable Alternative Kindred”) at no extra cost to the impacted Guest.
- In the event that Suitable Alternative Kindred is not available, Kindred will reimburse the Guest to help cover the cost of third-party accommodations, up to a specified maximum per night.
- Guests who prefer not to book a Suitable Alternative Kindred or third-party accommodations are eligible for a full refund of their credits and all associated fees.
Suitable Alternative Kindred
- In the event that a Host cancels a confirmed booking within thirty (30) days of the arrival date or there’s a home access issue where the Guest is reasonably prevented from entering the home due to no fault or oversight by the Guest, Kindred will attempt to secure a Suitable Alternative Kindred for the same dates at no extra cost to the impacted Guest.
- “Suitable Alternative Kindred” homes are defined as:
- Located in the same city, or within a 20-mile radius.
- Able to accommodate the same number of guests and pets as the original reservation.
- While we will make every effort to book an alternative Kindred that is similar to the original booking, we cannot guarantee that the rebooking will include the exact same features as the original booking. The following are not included criteria in finding a Suitable Alternative Kindred:
- Home layout, style, or aesthetic.
- Identical amenities as the original booking (if applicable).
- Exact neighborhood, or location of the original booking.
- In order to preserve the member experience, Kindred will attempt to secure a Suitable Alternative Kindred within seven (7) days of the cancellation.
- If the Guest declines the Suitable Alternative Kindred home(s), Kindred will automatically proceed with a full refund of the credits, service fee, and cleaning fee associated with the canceled booking.
- Please note that the Guest will be ineligible for third-party accommodations under the Trip Protection Policy if Suitable Alternatives are available on Kindred.
- If a Suitable Alternative Kindred cannot be secured, Kindred will assist with third-party accommodation expenses as outlined below.
Third Party Accommodations
If a Suitable Alternative Kindred is not available, Kindred, at its sole discretion, will assist with third-party accommodation expenses meeting the following criteria:
- Kindred will provide a maximum of $250 per night for two (2) guests (+ $100 for each additional guest) for up to seven (7) nights in the following locations:
- Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Boston, Brussels, Chicago, Copenhagen, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Paris, Rome, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Zurich.
- Kindred will provide a maximum of $200 per night for two (2) guests (+ $100 per night for each additional guest) for up to seven (7) nights in every other city.
- All guests must be declared at the time of the original booking in order to qualify for the additional guest reimbursement.
- Members must book accommodations through third-party providers directly and Kindred will remit reimbursement within fourteen (14) days after the member submits proof of booking to Kindred.
- Members can send proof of booking to [email protected] from the email address associated with their Kindred account, along with the details of the PayPal account to which they would like to receive payment.
- Members must sign the Alternative Accommodations Payment and Release Agreement provided by the Kindred concierge in order to receive payment.
Other Terms and Exclusions
- Booking third-party accommodations or a Suitable Alternative Kindred home will be deemed a “successful rebooking,” and will not be eligible for any refund of the credits, service fee, and cleaning fee associated with the original booking.
